Opting to field first the Tuskers hardly gave the Rockstars any room to cream the bowling. Young opener BR Sharath (23; 30b, 1x6, 1x4) was their top scorer. SL Akshay, another regular cricketer made 20 as Tuskers' left arm spinner IG Anil (3/15), and veteran medium pacer Balachandra Akhil (2/15) bowled tight lines.
Rockstars set a target of 98 which proved wholly inadequate as Tuskers' consistent scorers, former Karnataka opening batsman KB Pawan (40 not out, 27b, 2x6, 4x4) and the left hander Rohan Kadam (40; 33b, 7x4) got them off to a good start.
Kadam was dismissed with the total on 62 but Pawan stayed till the end to see the team collect its first points of the season.
Former Test cricketer GR Viswanath gave away the match awards, with IG Anil bagging the Man-of-the-match award.
Brief scores
Rockstars: 97 for 7 in 20 overs (BR Sharath 23, SL Akshay 20, IG Anil 3/15, B Akhil 2/15) lost to Bellary Tuskers: 98/2 in 11.2 overs (KB Pawan 40 not out, Rohan Kadam 40) by eights wickets.
