New Delhi, Sept 7: Explosive West Indies batsman Chris Gayle has praised young India batsman Lokesh Rahul for latter's impressive performance in all three formats of the game.

'KL Rahul beats Virat Kohli as most improved cricketer'

Like all, Gayle too is in awe of the young Karnataka batsman, who plays alongside the Jamaican swashbuckler for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The 'Universe Boss' was quoted by TOI as saying, "Rahul is a super player and has been scoring runs in all formats of the game. He is definitely one for the future. Rahul is someone who will be giving Virat Kohli a run for his money, and he works extremely hard on his fitness and on his game. He is definitely going great guns and all he needs to do is keep working hard and the results will follow."

Gayle is in India to participate in some local events and also launch his autobiography 'Six Machine' in India.

Earlier last week, former Team India director Ravi Shastri termed Rahul as the most improved cricketer in the world.

Lauding the young Karnataka lad, Shastri said the 24-year-old batsman has left India's Test skipper Virat Kohli behind to emerge as most improved cricketer in the world and he will prove to be a big asset for Indian cricket.

Rahul had recently scored his first T20 International century against West Indies in 46 balls during 1st T20I in USA. He was also the third highest scorer for the RCB after Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in IPL 2016.

Kohli's meteoric rise in every format of the game has already kept cricket world in awe but young Rahul, who plays under Kohli in IPL, has emerged as another 'all season batsman'.

Rahul has a century in every format of the game on International platform, a feat even Kohli hasn't yet achieved, is only grabbing attention with every match. Having already impressed experts with his calm and composed innings in Test cricket, the youngster is now making all the right noises in limited overs' format too.
