Jat stir: Yuvi, Viru appeal for peace

"We are the protectors and not violators," Yuvraj requested his fellow community-members to abjure from violence and put forth their demands in a constitutional manner.

"The country's defence forces, the sports world and others have made the country proud. We must concentrate and use our energies towards the upliftment of Indian society," the Jat cricketer (Sehwag) tweeted on a day when the protests continued for the eighth day.

Meanwhile, actor Randeep Hooda, another Haryana man and son of former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda, appealed to the Jat agitators to shun violence.
