BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya: A factfile

New Delhi, Sept 21: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Jagmohan Dalmiya who was admitted to a city hospital three days ago after complaining of chest pain, died on Sunday evening. He passed away at the age of 75.

President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled his death and extended their condolences to his family. Dalmiya's funeral will take place on Monday at the Keoratala crematorium. The following is a factfile of Jagmohan Dalmiya :

1983: Becomes the BCCI treasurer (the year India won the 50-over Cricket World Cup)

1997: Unanimously elected president of the International Cricket Council (ICC)

2000: Gives up the ICC chairman's post

2001: Becomes the BCCI president

2005: Finishes term as the BCCI chief.

2006: Expelled from the BCCI over allegations of misappropriation of funds related to hosting the 1996 World Cup

2006: Wins Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) election to become CAB chief.

2007: Resigns as CAB chief

2013: Appointed interim president of the BCCI

2015: Returns as the BCCI president after a 10-year gap

2015: Dies on September 20
