IPL 2017: Furious Virat Kohli blames 'one guy' for golden duck, summons umpire

Virat Kohli was seething with anger as he was dismissed for a golden duck in an IPL 2017 match at Kolkata's Eden Gardens.

Kolkata, April 24: A furious Virat Kohli blamed "one guy" and summoned the reserve umpire after collecting a golden duck in Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) record low against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in an Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 match last night (April 23). (Match scorecard)

As soon as he was out, he put his left hand up indicating at something. As he walked back to the dug-out he kept on shaking his head in anger. (10 lowest totals in IPL)

After crossing the boundary line, he threw his helmet, bat, gloves and pointed a finger at reserve umpire K Srinivasan and summoned him to the dug-out before settling into a chair. He was seen angrily speaking and gesturing towards the stands, behind him.

Kohli expressed his displeasure at the sight screen, to the match official, as his team-mates watched on. During the brief animated conversation, the reserve umpire was explaining something to the RCB skipper.

"Well, he is not happy, Virat Kohli, about something," remarked former India captain Ravi Shastri on TV commentary.

Later, after the match, Kohli said he was "distracted" by movement behind the sight screen by "one guy".

"The sight screen is very small here. One guy got up as the bowler was loading up, that distracted me. Still it wasn't a big deal. That was just one down. Nine guys could have done the job," Kohli said.

It was a forgettable night for RCB at Eden Gardens as they were skittled out for a record low IPL total of 49 in 9.4 overs while chasing 132. None of the RCB batsmen managed to get to double-digit score. The highest was 9 by Kedar Jadhav.
