IPL 2017: Full list of players retained by all 8 teams

Bengaluru, Dec 19: Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) will enter the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 Players' Auction with maximum funds among teams after all franchises announced their list of cricketers retained for next year's tournament.

"The window for the franchises to retain players for the VIVO Indian Premier League 2016 season closed at 1700 hrs IST (December 15, 2016)," the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said in a media advisory today (December 19). (IPL 2016 retention list)

"As many as 140 cricketers including 44 overseas players have been retained by the VIVO IPL franchises for 2017 season," it added. (IPL 2016 - Released players' list)

Among all 8 teams, Punjab have the maximum purse of Rs 23.35 crore for the auction. Their current squad strength is 18.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni will again play for Rising Pune Supergiants as he was retained by the franchise. He led the side last year and is expected to continue as the skipper in the next edition too. Suresh Raina was retained by Gujarat Lions.

Pune and Gujarat players

Pune have retained 16 players while Gujarat too have same number of cricketers in the squad for next year's IPL.

Mumbai and Delhi

Take a look at the players retained by Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Daredevils (DD).

Bangalore and Hyderabad

Reigning champions Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have retained 17 players while Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have 20. Captain Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle were retained by RCB.

Punjab and Kolkata

Kolkata have retained the least number of players among all teams. Their current strength of the squad is 14. Punjab have 19 players.
