The fire broke out near the press box adjoining TV-Radio room. Two AC compressor units caught fire.

The Economic Times quoted one of the firefighters who said: "No need to panic, it's a minor incident. We did not see any fire and only when the smoke was coming out we brought it under control. The AC units need to be shut off."

A team of 20 firefighters reached the stadium to control the situation. The fire broke out around 7:45 PM, just 15 minutes before the match started.
