1. Ishant Sharma
The senior India pacer, who's base price was set at Rs 2 crore ($298,842), couldn't attract any bidders.
Ishant was ignored by all the franchises twice after his name was announced in the post-lunch bidding too. The tall Delhi-based pacer played for Rising Pune Supergiants in the previous season.
2. Irfan Pathan
The veteran left-arm pacer too failed to impress the bidders as he too was unpicked in the IPL 2017 auction. Pathan had a base price of Rs 50 lakh ($74,650), but found no takers on two occasions when his name was pronounced.
He played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the previous edition of the league.
3. Imran Tahir
Despite holding the top bowling spots in both the ICC One-day Internationals (ODI) and Twenty20I rankings, South African leg-spinner Imran Tahir (base price Rs 50 lakh or $74,650) failed to attract any buyers in the auction.
Like Pathan and Ishant, Tahir, who missed out in the morning session, once again failed to generate any interests from any of the franchises in the post-lunch session.
4. Thisara Perera
The Sri Lankan all-rounder was overlooked by the franchises during the 2017 IPL auction. Perera played for Rising Pune Supergiants in the previous season but was released ahead of the auction for the tenth edition.
His base price was Rs 50 lakh/$74,650.
5. Jonny Bairstow
The England wicketkeeper batsman has to wait further to make his maiden IPL presence as he was ignored in the auction this year.
Bairstow had the base price of 1.50 crores ($2,23,950), perhaps a reason for the franchises for not picking him up.
Bairstow hasn't played any limited overs' game on Indian soil and this could be another reason for franchises ignoring him.
6. Brad Hogg
The 45-year-old former Australian all-rounder wasn't picked up in this year's IPL auction. Priced at 50 lakh ($74,650), the chinaman bowler and left-handed batsman didn't find any takers.
Hogg played for Kolkata Knight Riders in the previous edition of the cash rich league.
7. Parvez Rasool
The former Royal Challengers Bangalore all-rounder was unpicked in this year's IPL auction. Rasool was priced at Rs 30 lakh ($44,790) but found no takers.
8. Mohammad Shahzad
Big-hitting Afghan Mohammad Shahzad, also known as "MS", failed to attract any bids. Base priced at Rs 50 lakh ($74,650), the wicketkeeper batsman remained unsold.
9. Cheteshwar Pujara
The right-handed Test specialist from India revealed his intention to feature in this year's IPL but couldn't find any takers. Base priced at Rs 50 lakh ($74,650) Pujara was ignored by all the IPL franchises.
Pujara scored runs in the previous Test series' at a good strike rate, but seems that wasn't too much to impress the bidders.
10. Marlon Samuels
The veteran West Indies batsman was the man of the match in the last year's World T20 final against England but failed to attract franchises for the tenth edition of the IPL.
He was base priced at Rs 1 crore ($1,49,300) but no franchise picked up the right-handed batsman.
11. Prayan Ojha
The left-arm India spinner Pragyan Ojha found no takers this year. Ojha, who's base price was 30 lakh ($44,790), was not picked up in the IPL 2017 auction.
The left-arm spinner had once been the highest wicket-taker in one IPL edition as well. He last played for Mumbai Indians.
12. Alex Hales
England wicketkeeper batsman Alex Hales, who's base price was Rs 1 crore ($1,49,300), too couldn't attract any franchise.
Hales owns a reputation of being a destructive batsman in the limited overs, but his recent outing on Indian subcontinent was disastrous.
This former Mumbai Indians player will have to wait for another season.
