KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir surrounded MS Dhoni when he introduced spinner Piyush Chawala.
The skipper stationed himself at silly point and had two slips and placed a short leg for the demolishing batter.
Even Jacques Kallis, KKR coach, confirmed during the sideline interview that it was indeed a tactic to remove Dhoni early on.

The aggressive field placing perhaps worked for the KKR as Gambhir's bowlers managed to keep MS Dhoni calm. Dhoni scored 8 runs off 22 balls he faced.
This must have been MS Dhoni's slowest batting performance in the T20s.
The aggressive field placing was lauded by some while a few MS Dhoni fans called it arrogance.

KKR jumped to 2nd spot in the team standings after Yusuf Pathan powered them to an 8-wicket win against RPS in a rain-curtailed IPL tie.
Pune needed140-odd to make a match of it. Think Dhoni was trying to ensure such score as well as preserve wickets sensing rain. To no avail

No momentum for Dhoni this season nor for Pune and somewhere the two are intertwined
