IPL 2015: Why did Virender Sehwag call Harbhajan Singh "pagal" (mad)?

Mumbai, April 13: Virender Sehwag has his own style of batting and also speaking. And it was no different last night after the IPL 8 match between Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Mumbai Indians (KXIP) at Wankhede Stadium.

KXIP defeated MI by 18 runs on Sunday (April 12). The Punjab outfit was almost denied victory by a "Mad Sardar" answering to the name of Harbhajan Singh. KXIP posted 177/5 in 20 overs and restricted MI to 159/7 in their full quota of overs. (KKR, RCB players involved in a 'scuffle')

The offspinner "Bhajji" delighted the home crowd with a stunning 24-ball 64 (5x4, 6x6) at number 8. He took MI very close but could not help them cross the line. It was a fine all-round performance by Harbhajan, having earlier taken 2/20 in 4 overs.

After the match, Sehwag was asked by the host broadcaster about Harbhajan's knock and his reply with a smile, was straight from the heart, "Aaj lagta hai sardar pagal ho gaya tha (I think today sardar had gone mad)."

Sehwag made these comments in jest about his friend Harbhajan and he also wondered what he had eaten to produce such a knock. The Delhi opener praised Harbhajan for his batting. Sehwag himself had earlier played a good innings of 36 from 19 balls.

Sehwag and Harbhajan had been team-mates in the Indian side for a long time. However, they both are now out or reckoning due to poor form.
