According to reports on social media, it is raining heavily in Kolkata on Sunday afternoon. Former India batsman Aakash Chopra tweeted that it was raining cats and dogs. The match is schedule to start at 4 PM IST and it is unlikely to get under way at that time.
"Raining cats & dogs in Kolkata... #KKRvsRR #IPL," Chopra wrote on his Twitter page. At around 2.30 PM the whole ground was under covers.
In the host broadcaster "Sony MAX" studio, former India batsman Navjot Singh Sidhu ruled out chances of play today. "There will be no game today in Kolkata," he predicted.
Yesterday, some of the KKR players experienced earthquake in Kolkata. A strong earthquake in Nepal left nearly 2,000 dead and there were casualties also in northern part of India as well.
Going by the current scene in Kolkata, the chances of play are looking bleak. Players and fans will be praying that the rain clears for atleast a shorterned game to be played.
