Bengaluru, April 20: Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma was today fined Rs 12 lakh after his team maintained a slow over rate against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in last night's Indian Premier League 2015 (IPL 8) match.
"Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma has been fined after the team maintained a slow over rate during last evening's Pepsi IPL match against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Bengaluru.
"Since it was his first offence of the season under the IPL's Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Mr. Sharma was fined Rs 12 lakh," a media advisory from IPL said on Monday.
Last night (April 19), MI defeated RCB by 18 runs for their first win of the season, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. MI scored 209/7 in 20 overs and restricted RCB to 191/7 in their allotted overs.
