India Vs Sri Lanka: Muralitharan confident of hosts' comeback in second innings

Despite his country's disastrous show in the first innings against India's mammoth score, the Sri Lankan spin legend did not seem much concerned.

He, rather, opined, “Obviously Virat Kohl-led Indian team is favorite among the two countries in this series. This Indian team has an excellent balance in both batting and bowling. But at the same time, my belief is that Sri Lanka can create upset. They have a few youngsters who have the potentopotential and cause danger."

Asked whether how much embarrassment R Ashwin can cause on the wickets in Sri Lanka, Muralitharan who already has experience of playing with Ashwin in Chennai Kings in IPL clarified saying, “Ashwin has one important quality that he is an excellent student of the game. Especially, he wants to master the technique of innovations which he always tries to apply in the match. It is another quality of Ashwin is that he can experiment with ball in the match itself. Even while trying to experiment if Ashwin gets hammered he does not gets nervous."

But at the same time Sri Lanka's legendary spinner seemed also highly optimistic about Rangana Herath.

Murali explained, “Herath is highly potential. His rolling of the ball is simply mesmerizing. I have strong belief that he will also create danger in Indian batting. Yes, in the first Test Sri Lankan bowlers have not yet been able to establish their dominance. I will not also be surprised if we concede defeat by an innings in the ongoing first Test but with two more Tests left I have belief that Sri Lankan bowlers must bounce back."
