New Delhi, Dec 2: Team India has dominated a major part of the 5-Test series against England in the three matches played so far.

Apart from taking a 2-0 lead in the ongoing series, Virat Kohli's men have, so far, dominated the visitors in the batting department too.

Leading from the front, India's batting masterclass and charismatic skipper Kohli is the leading run-getter in the series.

Kohli has looked almost unaffected by the opposition bowlers, who have struggled to offer any resistance to this aggressive middle order batsman.

On a pitch where wickets kept falling at the other end and scoring runs seemed difficult, Kohli, on the other hand, seemed batting on an entirely different track in all the three games.

The right-handed batsman is in the form of his lifetime in the year 2016. From 10 matches and 16 innings in 2016, he has scored 965 runs at an impressive average of 68.92.

Cheteshwar Pujara is the second leading run-getter in this series followed by another modern day legend Joe Root.

1. Virat Kohli

The dashing Delhi batsman has scored 405 runs in 3 matches. He remained unbeaten twice in the 6 innings he has batted. 

The 28-year-old averages 101.25 in the series with 167 his highest score in the series. 

The incredible batting performance has propelled Kohli to a career best at No. 3 in the ICC Test rankings. He has slammed one ton and 2 half centuries in the series so far. 

2. Cheteshwar Pujara

Pujara is the second highest scorer in the series and has accumulated 338 runs in 3 Tests.

The Rajkot batsman slammed a ton (124) in the opening Test against England in front of his home crowd.

Later at Vizag, the right-handed batsman slammed his second Test ton of the series. 

Pujara averages 56.33 in the series and has been always in good nick against English bowlers. He has slammed 5 Test centuries against England.

3. Joe Root

The right-handed England batsman has scored 299 runs so far in the series. Root averages 49.83 in the series and has slammed a ton against India in the rubber. 

He has also slammed two fifties in the series. He may not have performed as per the expectations but team would be hoping big innings from the right-handed-batsman in the remaining two Tests. 

4. Ben Stokes

The aggressive England all-rounder has been in great form in the ongoing series. The New Zealand-born cricketer has contributed for his side in every department of the game. 

With 267 runs in 3 Tests, he has become fourth highest run-getter in the ongoing series. Stokes averages 53.40 in the series with 128 is his highest score.

5. Alastair Cook

Alastair Cook is the fifth highest run scorer in the series and third English in the top 5. 

In 3 Tests and 6 innings, the England opener has accumulated 246 runs and 130 being the highest score in the series.

Cook, who has been a nemesis for India, averages 41.00 in the series.
