Fort Lauderdale (USA), Aug 27: Promising batsman Lokesh Rahul's 110 not out went in vain as West Indies managed to sneak past India by 1 run in the nail-biting first T20 International at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground here on Saturday (August 27). (Dhoni sets world record)
Chasing a mammoth 246, India fell one run short to lose the match as West Indian all-rounder Dwayne Bravo produced a brilliant last ball to dismiss Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni after he survived on the first ball on the last over.
KL Rahul's maiden T20I hundred went in vain as India ended up on the losing side.
Earlier, riding on opener Evin Lewis' century, West Indies posted 245/6 in the first international T20 game against India in USA.
Here is how Twitterati reacted after the nailbiting contest ended:
Superb run chase comes to nought, alas. Windies will be relieved, India distraught. Makes it tougher for Dhoni & Co tmrw. Great match tho!— Cricketwallah (@cricketwallah) August 27, 2016
Convinced the transformation isn't only about bats. They help but the greatest transformation has occurred in the mind; in what is possible— Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) August 27, 2016
Choose your headline: KL Rahul has risen; MS Dhoni is back; or, may be: Everybody knows DJ Bravo is a champion #IndvsWI— Shekhar Gupta (@ShekharGupta) August 27, 2016
