Bengaluru, March 22: India will take on Bangladesh in their third match of the T20 World Cup at the Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Wednesday (March 23).

While India have one win from two matches, Bangladesh have lost both their matches played in the tournament so far. India beat Pakistan by 6 wickets at Kolkata last Saturday, thanks to a splendid batting display from Virat Kohli, after losing their first match to New Zealand. Coming back to India-Bangladesh encounters in T20 World Cup, the former have won both times they have met in the past. In the 2009 edition, India beat Bangladesh by 25 runs in the group stage while in 2014, the hosts lost to India by 8 wickets in the Super Ten stage.
Overall, India have a 4-0 lead over Bangladesh in T20 in as many matches. Their latest two victories came in the recently played Asia Cup T20 tournament in Bangladesh, including in the final. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who is playing his sixth T20 World Cup, led India to each of these victories over Bangladesh.
In the 50-over format, India lead 26-5 over Bangladesh in 32 matches with one game being abandoned. In World Cup, India have a 2-1 lead over Bangladesh with the latter winning their first game at Port of Spain in March 2007.
