ICC Test Rankings: Top 5 bowlers; R Ashwin consolidates top spot

Ashwin also retained the top spot in the list of all-rounders while his compatriot Ravindra Jadeja has gained two slots to reach a career-best fourth.

New Delhi, Nov 30: India's frontline spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has maintained his domination as number one bowler in current International Cricket Council (ICC) Rankings for Test cricket.

The tall Tamil Nadu cricketer also retained the top spot in the list of all-rounders while his compatriot Ravindra Jadeja has gained two slots to reach a career-best fourth slot after scoring a crucial 90 in his only innings in Mohali.

Ashwin, who is fastest to claim 235 wickets in 42 Tests, is seated comfortably at the top of the table in ICC Test Rankings.

Australia pace bowler Josh Hazlewood has moved into the top five for the first time after taking six wickets in Adelaide. He has moved up four places to take fifth position.

Three other pace bowlers have also attained career-best rankings. India's Mohammad Shami has moved up two places to take 19th position, England's Ben Stokes has advanced four places to take 21st place while South Africa's Kyle Abbott has gained seven places to reach 29th slot.

In the list of all-rounders, Ravindra Jadeja has gained two slots to reach a career-best fourth slot after scoring a crucial 90 in his only innings in Mohali. Ashwin has consolidated his position at the top with 493 points, a tally not reached by anyone since retired South Africa player Jacques Kallis in 2008.
