New Delhi, Dec 13: Apart from ruling the table in ICC Rankings for Test Bowlers, Ravichandran Ashwin is seated comfortably as the number one Test all-rounder in the latest ICC Rankings announced on Tuesday (Dec 13).
The Indian off-spinner is followed by Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib-al-Hasan.
Ashwin's deputy Ravindra Jadeja too is relishing his position in the top 5 all-rounder's list at the fourth position.
Ashwin has consolidated his position at the top of table in the ICC Rankings for Test Bolwers after his match-winning haul of 12-167 in the fourth Test against England at Wankhede Stadium on Monday (Dec 13).
Ashwin and Jadeja have emerged as the backbone of India's lower batting order. The duo have time and again stitched crucial partnerships whenever the team needed and it is the result of their combined bowling and batting performances that India has become a formidable side in the past year and a half.
Here are the top 5 all-rounders as per ICC Rankings (as on December 13, 2016, after India-England 4th Test in Mumbai):
1. Ravichandran Ashwin:
R Ashwin is also the top-ranked all-rounder at 483 points and enjoys a healthy lead over Bangladesh's Shakib-al-Hasan.
The left-handed Bangladesh all-rounder is on the second spot in the ICC Test all-rounders rankings with 405 rating points.
3. Ben Stokes:
The New Zealand-born England all-rounder has had an impressive Test series so far against India. He has contributed with the bat as well as ball. Ben Stokes is at third spot with 341 points in the ICC rankings.
4. Ravindra Jadeja:
Ashwin's spin partner Ravindra Jadeja has bridged the gap with Stokes to just one point in the all-rounders' list after taking six wickets in Mumbai. He has 340 rating points.
5. Moeen Ali:
After hitting a century in the opening Test, the England all-rounder didn't produce the desired results in the ongoing Test series against India.
Ali failed to be as effective with the ball but he kept his batting performance better. With 298 rating points he ranks 5th.
