"Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan has conceded the top spot for all-rounders to India's Ravichandran Ashwin after having overtaken him earlier this week. Shakib has dropped 38 points and is now on 403 points, 31 behind Ashwin," the International Cricket Council (ICC) said in a media release on Monday.
Ashwin is also the top Test bowler, sharing the number one spot with team-mate Ravindra Jadeja.
Jadeja is at third place in the all-rounders' list. Australia's Mitchell Starc is 4th followed by Ben Stokes of England.
Ashwin and Jadeja will be seen in action again this week as India face Australia in the 3rd Test of the 4-match rubber. The series is level at 1-1.
In the 2nd Test in Bengaluru last week, Ashwin took 6 wickets in the 2nd innings as India defeated Australia by 75 runs.
