Speaking at an event held in a lounge of the Bengal Chamber of Commerce, Ganguly, who is the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), said it is easy to judge things by sitting in the comfort of AC but had he been the captain, he wouldn't have given Kohli the ball for the last over, a report published in Anandabazaar Patrika said. "I would have given Kohli the very next over after he took that wicket," he said, as per the report. [Sourav Ganguly gets pat on back for making India-Pak match possible at Eden]

When asked who should have bowled the final over, Ganguly said the 19th and 20th overs are the most important ones in T20 and the best two bowlers should do them.

Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was criticised for his captaincy in this match. Some questioned his decision not to finish Ravichandran Ashwin's full quota of four overs and asking Kohli to do the final over.

Kohli, who picked one wicket in the match, couldn't stop the West Indies from winning as they overhauled India's huge score of 192 with seven wickets to spare.

The star of the West Indian innings, Lendl Simmons, who was playing his first match of the tournament, was caught in two no balls while one his catches was caught at the boundary but the fielder had touched the ropes.

Former West Indian fast bowler Ian Bishop was also present at the event.
