Perth, Mar 5: India's captain MS Dhoni is one of the best leaders in cricket. There have been several overseas players who have learnt from him while playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL). One among them is West Indies skipper Jason Holder who hailed Dhoni as a "good leader".
With India and West Indies set to face off in a Pool B match of ICC World Cup 2015 tomorrow, Holder revealed how he has learnt about captaincy while playing alongside Dhoni at Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL.
On Thursday, fast bowler Holder was asked how he has benefitted from the Indian skipper and he replied, "I've picked up a lot from Dhoni. He's a good leader." (We have plans to stop Kohli: Holder)
"He's a guy who is respected in the dressing room. Going about my career I tend to look at a few players and look at a few things people do, not particularly MS Dhoni, but successful players who have played cricket before. I just try to take bits and pieces from everybody and try to put it together into one," Holder added.
The 23-year-old Holder, who stands 6-foot 7-inch tall, is new to captaincy. He was appointed West Indies' ODI leader two months before the World Cup, in December 2014. He replaced Dwayne Bravo.
