I am not against 'any one' cricketer's biopic, clarifies Gautam Gambhir

Bengaluru, Sep 19: After being criticised for his comments on biopics on cricketers, Gautam Gambhir clarified that he is not against "any one" cricketer's film.

Dhoni talks about his biopic

Yesterday (September 18), Gambhir had said he does not believe in biopics on cricketers. Many thought this was in reference to a movie on captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni which is set to release this month.

"I don't believe in biopics on cricketers. I think those people, who have contributed more to the country than the cricketers, deserve a biopic. There are lots of people in the country who have done so many noble deeds for the nation. Therefore biopics should be made on their lives," Gambhir had written on his Twitter page.

These comments did not go down well with Dhoni's fans. Gambhir came under fire from Dhoni's supporters, on Twitter.

Following this, on Monday afternoon (September 19), Gambhir again took to Twitter to clarify his views.

"My detractors got it wrong. Am not against ANY ONE cricketer's biopic, am against d very concept which includes a biopic on my life," Gambhir wrote.

The left-handed batsman from Delhi said the 17 soldiers who were killed by terrorits in Uri deserved a biopic.

"These 17 martyrs deserv a biopic rather dan any cricketer. No better inspiration dan a young man sacrificing his life 4 his country.

"And these Jawans sacrifice their lives for paltry salaries n not disproportionate money & adulation reserved for us cricketers. Wake up," he wrote.
