During the Test, India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and Australian wicketkeeper Matthew Wade were involved in a heated exchange of words on the 3rd day (Sunday, March 26).
When Jadeja was batting in India's first innings, Wade provoked the left-hander by asking him why he was not part of the Indian side when they travelled abroad to play Tests. Jadeja did not keep quiet and hit back at the Australian stumper.
The entire conversation between the duo was caught on the stump microphone, which was released by BCCI on its website. The video was viewed by more than 500,000 times, till now.
Smith, who was speaking to the media after the series, said he was disappointed with BCCI for uploading the video.
"I was a little bit disappointed that BCCI sifts through the archives to find the conversation out out on the field between Matty (Matthew Wade) and (Ravindra) Jadeja," Smit said.
He continued, "It has happened between both sides throughout the series. The fact that they (BCCI) have done to us is a little bit disappointing. I think, usually, what is said on the field should stay on the field. It has been a hard-fought series. Guys are going to say things here and there. Emotions are going to be high. That is how it should be in a such a big series. I was little bit disappointed by the fact that BCCI did bring that out."
Jadeja, who was adjudged both Man-of-the-series and Player-of-the-series, said he was "motivated" to score runs by Wade's chirping behind the stumps. He scored a half century.
