New Delhi, May 24: As Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is set to lock horns with Gujarat Lions in the Qualifier I in the Indian Premier League (IPL) today (May 24) at Bengaluru, all eyes will be on RCB skipper Virat Kohli who has been the biggest entertainer in this season. (Preview: Qualifier I: RCB Vs GL)
With 919 runs in 14 matches, Virat Kohli is on the verge of creating history by amassing 1000 T20 runs in a single IPL season.
The Delhi swashbuckler needs just 81 runs to touch the magical figure of 1000 T20 runs and become the first batsman in Twenty20 history.
Virat Kohli's Sunrisers Hyderabad counterpart David Warner too has backed the RCB captain to break 1000-run barrier in the ongoing tournament.
"For his sake I hope he gets past the 1000-run barrier. It will be a massive achievement for Kohli and it would be great to witness someone of his class going past a 1000 runs in a single IPL season," Warner was quoted by India Today Television.
"As a human being he is very passionate, he likes visualising everything. He trains hard and I always see him in the gym. I'm not saying that everybody should train the way he does but that's just how he gets the best out of himself.
"That's why we are all witnessing a young kid who's going to make a legend status out of himself," the Sunrisers skipper added.
Warner too has been in great form in the ongoing tournament, the Australian opener has scored 658-runs in 14 games.
