Bengaluru, Feb 28: Karnataka defeated Mumbai by 112 runs to enter the final of Ranji Trophy for the second year in a row.
R Vinay Kumar-led side completed the victory in their semi-final here at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday morning.
Chasing 445 for victory, Mumbai were bowled out for 332 in the first session on the fourth day. Abhishek Nayar retired hurt due to injury and did not come out to bat today.
Mumbai were 277/6 in 107 overs overnight. Nayar had sustained a head injury during fielding and batted yesterday (2 not out off 41 balls).
Paceman Abhimanyu Mithun was the pick of the bowlers in the second innings with 4/69 while S Aravind and Shreyas Gopal took 2 wickets each.
Vinay's 6/20 in the first innings was the turning point of the match. Mumbai were skittled out for just 44.
Karnataka will play either Tamil Nadu or Maharashtra in the final in Mumbai from 8 March. Karnataka are the defending champions.
