Dharamsala, Oct 16: All-rounder Hardik Pandya made his one day international (ODI) debut on Sunday (October 16) as India play New Zealand here in the first of the five match rubber.

The Baroda boy thus became 215th player to represent India in the ODIs. Pandya was handed over the ODI cap by former India captain Kapil Dev during the team huddle.
Pandya has represented India in sixteen Twenty20 international games but made his ODI debut today. He made his T20I debut in Australia earlier this year.
The all-rounder has accumulated 78 runs in 7 innings he has batted and scalped 15 wickets in the shortest format of the game.
Pandya, began his debut match by opening the bowling for India, and also made it memorable one by getting 3 wickets in his first spell. The right-handed bowler also impressed the experts with his pace.
Pandya finished with 3/31, the best stats in the match from the Indian side.
This is India's 900 ODI match, which is the most by any cricket playing nation. To commemorate the historic ocassion, the BCCI used a special gold coin for toss.
