In a series of tweets, Harbhajan said it was "disgraceful and shame" on the airlines and called for "strict action" against the pilot. However, he did not mention where the incident happened and when.

"So called this Bernd Hoesslin a pilot with @jetairways called my fellow indian(u bloody indian get out of my flight)while he is earning here (sic)," Harbhajan wrote on his Twitter page on Wednesday afternoon (April 26).

"Not only was he racist but physically assaulted a lady and abused a physically challenged man..absolutely disgraceful &shame on @jetairways (sic).

"Strict action must b taken &such things should not be allowed or tolerated in r country.. #proudtobeindian let's get together and sort this (sic)," he added.

Harbhajan also tagged PM Modi in a tweet, asking him to take action against the pilot.

There were angry replies to Harbhajan's tweets and they called upon Jet Airways to ask the pilot to apologise.

The airlines responded to Harbhajan saying they have "zero tolerance" for such incidents and ordered a probe.
