"KSCA, as a green initiative, has successfully installed a rooftop photovoltaic solar power system at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium," former India batsman KSCA secretary Brijesh Patel said.

"It is a matter of great pride for us for the state of Karnataka that the M Chinnaswamy Stadium is the first cricket stadium in the world to install a solar power plant," he added.

According to KSCA officials, the solar power plant installed on the Eastern stand roof, can generate 5.9 lakhs units per year which is sufficient to power 200 AEH (All Electric Homes) using 3KW.
