Masters Champions League (MCL) will be unveiled today in Dubai. The tournament is being organised by former Australian cricketer Dean Jones' company and GM Sports.
"GM Sports and Dean Jones' company Major Events will organise one of the biggest tournaments that the UAE has seen," a media release from the organisers said.
Jones said, "This iconic tournament will be organised and played in the UAE for the next 10 years. Based on the T20 format, this will bring together some of the greatest iconic names that the game has ever seen."
"A first of its kind, MCL is likely to involve veterans of cricket, in some capacity a number of high-profile former international cricketers from around the world.
"MCL has been formally approved by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB), which makes it official for the International Cricket Council (ICC) as well," the release added.
