Gautam Gambhir makes Test comeback after 2 years: Twitterati couldn't be happier

Indore, Oct 8: Veteran India opener Gautam Gambhir is playing a Test match after a gap of two years and two months at Indore's Holkar Stadium on Saturday (October 8).

The left-handed-batter made it to the Playing XI in the Indian squad after opener Shikhar Dhawan was ruled out of the squad due to injury.

The Delhi-lad who was inducted into the the India squad after KL Rahul suffered a hamstring injury during first test match at Kanpur. Gambhir, however, didn't get a chance to play in the second match as team management decided to go with Dhawan at Kolkata Test.

The 34-year-old Gambhir has so far played 56 Tests, scoring over 4,000 runs. He recently impressed in the Duleep Trophy, having compiled four back-to-back half centuries including 2 ninety plus scores.

Gambhir played his last Test match in August 2014 at London's Oval against England. The left-handed batsman had a forgettable match as he scored 0 and 3 respectively in that game.

Gambhir's inclusion in India's Playing XI filled his fans with joy, who took to micro-blogging site Twitter to express their happiness watching their favourite player bat.
