New Delhi, Dec 6: As J Jayalalithaa passed away on December 5 (Monday), cricketing fraternity paid rich tributes to the dead Tamil Nadu chief minister.

Jayalalithaa who passed away at 11.30 PM on December 5 will be put to rest near the MGR Samadhi at Marina in Chennai at 4:30 PM today.

Jayalalithaa on Sunday (Dec 4) suffered a cardiac arrest following which she breathed her last at Chennai's Apollo Hospital. She has been hailed as Iron Lady and the most powerful politician in the politics of South India.

Scores of followers reached the Rajaji Hall where the body has been kept for public viewing.

Early this morning the motorcade carrying the mortal remains of Jayalalithaa draped in the Triclour was taken to the Rajaji Hall from her residence at Poes Garden. The situation in Chennai and the rest of the state has been by and large peaceful.
