Hyderabad, Dec 23: Media reports recently claimed that former Team India captain, Mohammed Azharuddin tied nuptial knots for the third time. This time the former cricketer marriedShannon Marie, an American citizen.
However, the cricketer slammed media for carrying such "false" reports. Azhar, while writing on micro-blogging site Twitter, said, "News about my 3rd marriage is incorrect and false. Please check facts before publishing."

Reports about Azhar's third marriage surfaced when he reportedly introduced Shannon as his wife when they visited the house of his driver Jaan Mohammed in Mumbai to console the family. The driver recently died.
Azhar played 99 Tests and 334 ODIs for India. He shot to fame by hitting three consecutive centuries on debut in 1984-85.
Azhar, who was an elected Congress MP from Moradabad constituency of Uttar Pradesh, was one of the most successful captains of Team India.
His career, however, ended in disgrace in 2000 when he was banned for life from playing the game for his involvement in match fixing. Though the court lifted the ban in 2012, Azhar's career was already over.
