England's Liam Thomas loses prosthetic leg while saving a boundary, continues fielding

This rare display of on-field commitment and grit from the young cricketer is inspiring people over social media.

In the video, which is going viral over social media, Thomas could be seen diving to stop the ball from crossing the boundary ropes. In his attempt to field the ball, Thomas loses his prosthetic limb but that didn't stop him from retrieving the ball and throwing it back to the pitch. Thomas, later, limped on his one leg towards the detached limb.

Apart from the players on the field and people on social media are saluting his effort.

Thomas was later quoted by media reports that he was in a catch 22 situation whether to grab his prothetic limb or collect the ball to save an extra run and opted for later.

"I was sprinting for the ball, put my hand out, hit the deck hard and the next thing I know I stood up and had no leg," he reportedly said.

"I didn't know whether to grab the leg or get the ball in. I decided to go for the ball," he added further.

England however lost the T20 match to Pakistan but Thomas won millions of hearts.
