England name 15-man squad for ICC Champions Trophy 2017

London, April 25: Hosts England have recalled Mark Wood and David Willey for the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 to be held in June.

England selectors today (April 25) announced a 15-man squad for the 50-over tournament, starting on June 1. The final will be played on June 18.

Eoin Morgan will lead the team. England are grouped with Australia, Bangladesh and New Zealand in Pool A. The face Bangladesh at The Oval on June 1.

On England and Wales Cricket Board's (ECB) website, National selector, James Whitaker, was quoted as saying, "We have made encouraging progress over the past 18 months in white ball cricket and the squads selected reflects consistency and gives options across all disciplines.

"It is pleasing that Mark Wood and David Willey have returned to full fitness. They add variety and quality to our bowling strengths and David's ability as an attacking batsman is also an important element for us.

"As we build-up to the ICC Champions Trophy in June, matches against Ireland and South Africa are very important in their own right as we aim to win both series."
