Dhoni has been with CSK since the start of the league in 2008. He has led the side in all 8 editions and won 2 IPL and Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20) titles each.

The skipper, who has been rested from the ongoing India's tour to Zimbabwe, met the Chief Minister for about half hour on Thursday and discussed various issues related to sports.

CM Das supported Dhoni in the present IPL crisis, as he was quoted as saying by "The Times of India", "Being a politician I believe that ups and downs are part and parcel in the life of politicians and sports person. Like we dont win every election , a sportsman doesn't win every match."

"Dhoni refused to answer questions related to IPL scam," the report said. However, the wicketkeeper-batsman said, "This is my first meeting with the CM of first majority government of state and I am confident that matter of sports academy would move in the positive direction."
