Ahmedabad, April 16: Mumbai Indians' (MI) Aaron Finch said in a tweet on Wednesday that the hamstring injury he suffered during the match against the Rajasthan Royals here on Tuesday has ruled him out of this year's Indian Premier League (IPL).
Finch was seen in great pain after completing a single in the fourth over of the match that the Royals won comprehensively. The Australian retired hurt at the individual score of 10 and couldn't take any further part in the match. He underwent a scan on Wednesday and the result was not favourable.
Looks like I'll be out of the rest of @IPL at this stage! The scan showed a bit of damage, absolutely shattered!— Aaron Finch (@AaronFinch5) April 15, 2015
Finch, who had scored the first century of the cricket World Cup which Australia won last month, has played three matches for the MI, his fifth IPL franchise and scored 23 runs at an average of 11.50.
The 28-year-old player also plays for English county defending champions Yorkshire.
MI will take on Chennai Super Kings in Mumbai on Friday. The MI, who won the 2013 edition, have lost all their three matches played so far.
