1. Ravindra Jadeja
India's number one star of the series, undoubtedly, is Ravindra Jadeja. The left-hand all-rounder claimed 25 wickets in the 4-Test rubber and also scored 127 runs with 2 half centuries. He was rightly adjudged Player-of-the-series and also picked up the Man-of-the-match award in the 4th Test.
2. Ravichandran Ashwin
Ravichandran Ashwin claimed 21 wickets in the series. He had 1 five-wicket haul. He took 6 wickets in the 2nd innings of Bengaluru Test as India won by 75 runs to level the series. He did not have a good run with the bat as he managed only 53 runs.
3. Cheteshwar Pujara
Cheteshwar Pujara was India's highest run scorer in the series with 405 runs. Overall, he was second behind Australia captain Steve Smith (499 runs). He scored 202 in the 3rd Test in Ranchi and won the Man-of-the-series award. He set a record in Ranchi as he batted for 525 balls, most by an Indian batsman in a Test innings, beating Rahul Dravid's record.
4. KL Rahul
Opener KL Rahul was consistent in the series, scoring 6 half centuries out of the 7 innings he played. He won the Man-of-the-match award in the 2nd Test in Bengaluru as India emerged victorious by 75 runs to level the series. He hit the winning runs in Dharamsala as India took the series 2-1. 5. Umesh Yadav
Paceman Umesh Yadav made the Australian batsmen hop in Dharamsala. He took 17 wickets in the series. He was one of the main architects of India's 2-1 win. He came in for high praise from captain Virat Kohli.
