BCCI to change East, Central Zone selectors: Report

Mumbai, May 30: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is considering two changes in the senior national selection panel after the annual general meeting (AGM) in September, an Indian Express report said.

The board, according to the report, is likely to replace the selectors from the Central and East zones.

Former India Test wicket-keeper Saba Karim is currently representing the East while former Uttar Pradesh coach Rajinder Singh Hans is the selector from the Central Zone.

The selection panel was given a year's extension after the AGM held a few months ago but the board is keen to make changes now, the report quoted a BCCI official as saying.

The selectors are picked for a four-year term but the BCCI reviews their performance annually. The current committee is headed by Sandeep Patil and has Roger Binny and Vikram Rathour besides Karim and Hans.

The junior selection committee will also see a similar change in faces, the report added.
