Kolkata, Sep 17: The Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) president Jagmohan Dalmiya was admitted to a hospital on Thursday night after suffering a heart attack.
According to media reports, Dalmiya "suffered a massive cardiac arrest" and was rushed to BM Birla Heart Research Centre in Kolkata, "Times Now" news channel said.
News agency "PTI" tweeted, "BCCI chief Jagmohan Dalmiya suffers heart attack, admitted to a Kolkata hospital."
"He complained of severe chest pain and now has been put in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), doctors are constantly monitoring his condition," a hospital spokesperson told "IANS" news agency.
The 75-year-old cricket administrator has not been in good health for some time now. Many in the BCCI wanted him to step down due to his ill health. However, he has continued as the chief of the Indian cricket board.
Dalmiya was re-elected as BCCI's president earlier this year after a gap of 10 years. He replaced N Srinivasan.
