Harare, June 20: Left-arm seamer Barinder Sran had a sensational T20 International debut as he finished with best bowling figures for India in the second T20 match against Zimbabwe here at Harare on June 20.
Sran finished with best figures of 4 wickets for 10 runs from his quota of 4 overs. Previous best from India was Pragyan Ojha's 4/21 in four overs.
Barinder Sran 4/10 is the second best bowling figures on debut in T20Is, best figures were registered from Bangladesh's Elias Sunny's 5/13 vs Ireland in Belfast on 18 July, 2012.
Sran, the rookie fast bowler from Haryana, made his ODI debut for India at Perth, Australia in January, earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah claimed his 22nd T20 wicket in 2016 and became the highest wicket taker for India in a calendar year. The previous best for India was by R Ashwin who has taken 21 wickets this year.
All time T20I record of most wkts in a calendar year is held by Australia's Dirk Nannes who took 27 wickets in 2010.
Also, this was the sixth occasion when India restricted an opponent to less than 100 in T20Is.
Opponents being: England, UAE, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Australia and Zimbabwe.
