Australia defeat India in Canberra ODI to set world record

Canberra, Jan 20: Steve Smith captained Australia today (January 20) defeated India by 25 runs in the 4th One Day International to set a world record.

Australia erased West Indies' mark of staying unbeaten in 18 consecutive ODIs at home. With the latest win in Canberra in the 4th ODI against the MS Dhoni-led side, Australia have not tasted defeat in 19 ODIs at home. The streak began on November 19, 2014.

The string of triumphs at home also includes their successful ICC World Cup 2015 campaign under the leadership of Michael Clarke.

In Canberra, Australia posted 348/8 in 50 overs thanks to a century by opener Aaron Finch. In the run chase, India looked set to win after super hundreds by Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli but went down in the last over. India, from 277/1, were bowled out for 323.
