Ashwin injured, Harbhajan Singh called up to India ODI squad

Kanpur, Oct 11: India's off-spinner R Ashwin sustained a left side strain injury during the 1st ODI against South Africa here on Sunday and Harbhajan Singh has been included in the team for the next match, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced.

Harbhajan Singh

In a media release, BCCI announced that Harbhajan will join the team before the 2nd ODI in Indore on October 14. However, the Indian cricket board did not mention how long Ashwin will be out of action.

"R. Ashwin sustained a left side strain injury during the first Paytm One day International against South Africa at Green Park, Kanpur on 11th October 2015. After making a detailed assessment of the injury, the BCCI medical team will confirm the time frame required for Ashwin to fully recovery from the injury," BCCI said.

"Harbhajan Singh has been included in the Indian squad, and will join the team before the second match of the series in Indore," it added.
