Another low: India end Australia tour winless, first time in 47 years

Perth, Jan 30: India's miserable tour to Australia ended today without a single victory as they lost to England in their last tri-series league game and failed to qualify for the final.

; World Cup Special

This was India's worst tour Down Under since . For the first time since that trip, India did not manage to win a single game - Practice, Test or ODI. (Dhoni reveals 'Catch-22 situation')

MS Dhoni and his side will now head into World Cup

It is another low in 47 years for the side which will start ICC World Cup defence in the same country with matches also in New Zealand. On their 1967-68 tour, India was whitewashed 0-4 in the Tests by the hosts.

India arrived in Australia in November, 2014 with former cricketers and experts backing this side to win matches - both Tests and ODIs, but in the end it has been a forgettable one.

The tour also had its share of controversy when MS Dhoni retired from the five-day game midway through the 4-Test series, which the team lost 0-2. Dhoni quit Tests after the third match of the rubber in Melbourne.

In the tri-series that followed after the Tests, India lost twice to England and once to Australia while the other game against the hosts was washed out.

India were expected to do much better in the tri-series but disappointed.
