New Delhi, June 24: BCCI named former India skipper Anil Kumble was on Thursday (June 23) as India's head coach for 1-year term.

The 45-year-old Kumble, India's highest wicket-taker (3rd in the world) in Tests with 619 scalps and one of the respected voices in the cricket world, got the nod over Ravi Shastri and other 20 candidates. (Reactions from Twitter)
Kumble's appointment as India's new coach was liked by many while disliked by a few. Hours after Kumble's appointment, Twitterati trolled Ravi Shastri for he will be back into the commentary box. While there were others who hailed the former India captain.
