New Delhi, May 5: At a time when people are busy drawing comparison between Sachin Tendulkar and India's star batsman Virat Kohli, it is England's captain Alastair Cook who is all set to break Master Blaster's Test record.

The England opener is going to become the youngest batsman to score 10,000 Test runs, a record held by India's cricketing legend for more than a decade.

The left-handed batter is just 36 runs shy of completing his 10,000 runs in the longest format of the game. Cook, who turned 31 last Christmas, has scored 9,964 Test runs, including 28 centuries and 47 fifties.

Sachin was 31 years and 10-months-old when he achieved this landmark against Pakistan in Kolkata in March 2005. Batting at No. 4 Sachin scored 52 in the both innings of the second Test of the series when Master Blaster touched yet another milestone.
