Jadeja was adjudged both Man-of-the-match and Player-of-the-series. He took 25 wickets and scored 127 runs with 2 half centuries.

In the post-match presentation ceremony, Jadeja was asked by former India captain and commentator Ravi Shastri about his performance and he revealed how he was "motivated" by Wade's words. (See the video of the incident here)

When Jadeja was batting in India's first innings, Wade decided to attack the left-hander. His words were recorded on the stump microphone.

According to reports, Wade had asked Jadeja why he was not picked in the Indian Test side when they travel abroad.

"How come you don't get picked outside India? Why is that? Why don't you get picked?," Wade asked.

When Jadeja was asked about the war of words with the Australian stumper, Jadeja had brushed aside saying, "Nothing happened. You know and I know what happens on the ground in these situations. I was just telling Wade that we will meet and have dinner once you guys have lost the Test."

Now, with the Test over and the series in the kitty, Jadeja said, "Mattew Wade said few words from behind the stumps. That motivated me. I decided I have to answer him here with the bat."

Jadeja constructed a crucial knock of 63 runs in the first innings as India took a 32-run lead.

The left-hander, who recently became the number one Test bowler in the International Cricket Council's (ICC) rankings, said, he felt good to be on top of the world.
