New Delhi, Sep 30: India's Test skipper Virat Kohli faced criticism over social media for not picking Gautam Gambhir in the second Test match against New Zealand at Kolkata's Eden Gardens on Friday (September 30).

Fans blamed Kohli for picking out-of-form opener Shikhar Dhawan and ignoring in-form Gambhir, who was scoring runs in the domestic circuit.
At a time when there is stiff competition for the opening slot, Dhawan departed for just 1 run after getting played-on by Matt Henry.
(Is captaincy affecting Kohli's batting?)
What aggravated the fans anger was that Dhawan perished after scoring just 1 run.
In 11 innings since his debut against Australia, in which he scored 187 runs, the Delhi left-hander has aggregated only 207 runs with a highest of 45 not out.
