Tendulkar has the most runs in World Cup history with 2,278 while McGrath has claimed the highest number of wickets with 71. Ponting's achievements of most matches as a player (46) and captain (29) is out of reach for the current lot in this edition. (India's centurions at WC)

Australia's Ponting has been the best skipper in World Cup history, having led his team to 26 victories out of 29 (1 No Result). His only 2 losses came in 2011 edition, against Pakistan and India (quarter-final).
