Bengaluru, July 25: Mike Tyson has brushed off claims that Conor McGregor could cause a major upset in his 'big money' fight against the 'Money' Floyd Mayweather in the Showtime PPV main event.
The former heavyweight champion believes the UFC lightweight champion made a blunder in agreeing to fight Mayweather in a boxing match.
While speaking on 'Pardon My Take' podcast, Tyson claimed McGregor will be on the wrong end of a knockout when he enters the squared circle with Mayweather on August 26 in the blockbuster fight.
"McGregor is going to get killed in boxing. I got mad because I thought they were going to use MMA rules against boxing because that's what it's all about."
"Can the boxer beat the MMA guy?"
"McGregor put his dumb a*** in a position where he's gonna get knocked out because this guy's been doing this all his life since he was a baby."
"Conor can't kick and grab and stuff so he won't stand much of a chance."
"McGregor took the biggest sucker rules in the history of boxing."
Tyson also added he would have fought the Notorious one under MMA rules had it been him rather than Mayweather facing the Irishman.
This will be the first time McGregor enters the boxing ring and it will be interesting how he will cope with the greatest and former multi-time boxing champion Mayweather next month at the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
