New Delhi, May 20: In a shocking development, Haryana Police's Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has claimed there was a threat to wrestler Narsingh Pancham Yadav's life at Sports Authority of India's (SAI) training camp in Sonepat.
As per media reports, CID officials visited the Sonepat-based training camp twice last week to keep an eye on Narsingh Yadav. Even local cops are keeping a close watch at the camp.
Meanwhile, the Mumbai-based wrestler's coach Jagmal Singh has said he is going to write to the Wrestling Federation of India to apprise of this situation.
India's star wrestler Sushil Kumar and Narsingh Yadav are sparring over ticket to Rio Olympics 2016 under 74 kg freestyle category. Narsingh had won the Olympic quota by winning a bronze at Wrestling Championship last year.
Sushil Kumar, who was injured last year at the time of championship, is seeking for a trial between him and Narsingh so that winner out of two gets an Olympic berth.
It is due to this reason CID feels there is threat to Narsingh's life at Sonepath camp where most of the wrestlers are from Haryana.
